You can launch out of Breton Sound Marina south of Chalmette. If you look up the Marina it will come up on Google. I would suggest buying a map of the area (available at the marina or at Academy) to familiarize yourself. You can leave out of the marina and take a right down Bayou LaLoutre towards Pip's canal and fish all the banks in Hopedale Lagoon and Lake Ameda. You can take a left out of the Marina and cross the MRGO heading towards Bayou St. Malo. Take a left at St. Malo and fish any cut to the right or left again working the banks. These areas produced a ton of redfish for me last summer. Be careful in the St. Malo cuts there are tons of stumps and logs. As far as lodging there is not much if any in that area.
