martin 37 minutes ago Report Abuse without doubt the event of magma being accessed by the collapse of the sea floor off the gulf of mexico would cause a reaction by such heat hitting such dense pressured extreme cold waters. if such an event takes place, it is not the reaction in physics and the sub oceanic explosive wave resulting from the water displacement, but the potential of the plate cracking along the fault line due to the hot and cold reaction. this gulf was once an impact area for a meteorite which changed the face of the earth.
