Not sure if I'll be able to make it down that weekend, might be hauling some stuff to our new place in NOLA, but wanted to give you guys a couple of quick warnings.

First, have a DD even if you are just driving on the beach. If not simply for safety's sake, the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Department does not turn a blind eye just because you aren't on the road. I have a buddy that is a deputy down there and has arrested people for DUI driving on the beach, they are especially picky about it when there are kids around, so please stay safe.

Second, if you bring the kiddos down make sure they have flip-flops, crocks, or watersocks for their feet. I took my boys down there in April and had to make an emergency room visit which turned into an overnight hospital stay, and emergency surgery to get a catfish spine out of my 6 year old's foot. He stomped on a pile of sand which was covering a catfish carcass.

Have fun everyone!!!

No glass bottles either. They will write you up quick, fast and in a hurry.
They don't normally patrol this area, unless someone calls.
