Default May not be the best idea but...

I'm thinking about making an afternoon fishing trip to big lake that will probably go into the night to fish some lights. Do you guys think this is a good idea. How has the afternoon/night fishing been?

Its pretty windy today. I dont know if I would go. I went friday afternoon and on the way the forecast said w wind 3mph for current conditions. We get there and its 10+. Only caught 2 trout. (one was 4.5 lbs though) Water was pretty dirty. Sat morning only managed 6 trout. Not too good. Didnt use live bait though. But of course thats not gonna stop me, Im going again this weekend.

Winds should lay down tonite. Fish the lights around Hebert's. I was at Cocahoe's a few weeks ago and saw alot of ppl fishing at night. Heard they been doing well.

When you feel froggy, jump! Life is too short to wait for perfect conditions.
This site is pretty accurate for actual conditions. If it's 10 mph in Cameron, its probably 10 mph in Big Lake. http://www.tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/ports/ports_data.shtml?stn=lc0201%20Cameron%20Fishing%20 Pier&data_type=Composite
We caught them under the lights off Pelican Point Tuesday. Live bait worked best early, but by midnight the plastic bite was on. Good luck.

Aftrnoon/night bite should be best since the tide will be ripping late until midnight. Could be a bit bumpy so make sure you have all safety equipment on; kill switch, life jackets, nav lights, ect.

hey guys just to let all of you know. I didn't get to go fishing this afternoon due to working extra late, but i do appreciate everything. I will hopefully get to go on my night trip some time soon. Looks like a tropical storm will be brewing saturday night, so that cancels out that night. Guess i just have to wait until the next full moon. But once again sorry for letting ya'll down. I know a big lake report would of been awesome seeing that they are scarce around here.
