I didnt go this past weekend, but have been going behind Grand and next to the cement wall lately. I was catching reallly good until about 3 weeks ago. It was slow these last two weeks and they were small. Try to get out of the heavy current behind Lambert if the other spots have nothing. They were only half full about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully they are getting better. Pretty soon they will be so many cast netters you wont be able to get to them.

What are ya'll using for bait? Seems like drop lines are better with chicken quarters versus fish heads. When using drop nets I like trout heads over chicken. Never had much luck using melt and hate looking at it much less handling the nasty stuff.

I usually use my old trout heads and flank. I save them in ziplock bags and throw it in ice chest before leaving. Leg quarters got pretty $. I will use them if I run out of trout heads. I find not mutch dif.

Behind the weirs at the cement wall is always a good place to try. Some of my friends went there Saturday and caught their five dozen in two hours on chicken quaters. Said they had some real nice ones. Good luck. |
