Default Grand Isle 8/9 & 8/10

Me and my friend Ryan went down to GI for a couple days of fishing. I dont have a trolling motor right now so we had to pick a spot and sit for a while. Monday morning wind forecast was N 5-10 actually was 10-20 due to some storms but thankfully still out of the north so they blew offshore and the water was beautiful, even the water in bridgeside's launch area was kinda green. Started at the elmers beach at the pass and started throwing plastic only caught a couple of hardheads. We had bought some croakers for backup and started throwing those carolina rigged in the surf. i couldnt catch a trout to save my life all morning. I caught one keeper and was constantly catching hardheads and sharks we went in early never really got on a good bite. went out monday evening to try again but mostly to catch a few bull reds. I hooked one that after fighting it for about 10 min decided he wanted off so spooled me for about 150 yds of line ended monday with 15 solid trout and a big red Ryan insisted on keeping.

Tuesday morning less wind still out of the north hit the elmers beach and picked up 30. Bite shut down so we went to the state park just to check it out on that side. Must have just missed the bite cause there were about five boats anchored along the rocks all we caught were ladyfish and hardheads. Headed back in to grab some lunch. Went back out in the afternoon to a strong east wind and the crappy anchor i bought from academy wouldnt hold... but it worked out for the best. Went inside the pass and caught 41 in about 2 hrs with about a 2lb fish avg caught a couple that were pushing 4. mostly on croaker but a few on topwater.

1st pic is monday
2nd pic Tuesday morning
3rd pic tuesday aftrenoon
4th is the Big Girls from tuesday(the small fish is 13")
5th is all the meat from both days

I showed my wife the pics last night and she said "Why you never catch fish like that when you go fishing?"
