Blown out Oil Well still spewing oil, gas, and other material near Paincourtville
Thu Aug 19, 5:13 pm ET The Blown Out well located just a few hundred yards off Highway 70 near Paincourtville is actually closer to Grand Bayou and very close to Dow Chemical located along Highway 70. The well has been spewing out its treasures of black gold (oil) and natural gas along with other minerals hundreds of feet into the air since early Wednesday morning August 11 |

It's not close to the big plant of Dow that you may be thinking of. It near one of their pipline terminals, miles away from the big plant. It's close to Pierre Part.
The well is actually located in the middle of a sugarcane field. |

From the pics it looks like a workover rig, and I believe Kajun Well service is a workover comp., not sure but what I do know is these companies need to tighten up their game and keep up with the bop test!! When I was drilling on a rig in Mississippi there was a company that would come and test our BOP's and they would always ask me if I wanted them just to roll the charts to make it look like we tested them instead of actually testing them. I would always have to tell them imbred sob's that I wanted to test the da** things and quit asking me to fake the test, after about a year there they finally knew if I was there they had to give a real test. That is one thing I would never allow shortcuts on while I was on tour, I was responsible for everyone who worked on that rig after we would test them. I know there is equipment failures and that these things do happen but as long as ive been around rigs there is always a sign that its time to work on your equipment or send it in for work...just my 2cents
