Default Kinda strange first post

Pensacola guy here and first post. Lurked here for a few months and have really enjoyed learning to read cajun, we speak southern over here. But this weekend me and a friend are heading your way, We will be going down to the Venice area to drop off some diapers at a couple of churches for them to give to anybody that may need them. No fishing as i am not bringing my boat, but was looking for some Good Places to eat down that way and buy some boudin or any other thing that is a good time. We will be traveling down highway23/11 .
Thanks, Barry

If you want good cajun food (especially boudin) you need to go west of the Mississippi and south of Alexandria.

This should fire some people up.

There is a place before you get to Empire that has good poboys... cant think of the name but it is on the right side of the road when you are going south. As for boudin its tough to find good boudin in that area like everyone else says. You can order some good stuff and have it shipped to you. Im pretty sure Heberts Specialty Meats in Maurice ships nationwide. Their stuffed chickens are amazing too the phone number there is (337) 893-5062. Also the Best Stop in Scott and Don's specialty meat in Carencro ship nationwide as well.

Jerry Lee's is some good stuff...I used to negotiate a contract down there for a group of workers and they would stop in the morning and pick some up...They said he only makes so much every day and when it's gone you have to wait until tomorrow...

Never have liked the Best Stop's boudin....to wet for me.
