Thumbs up venice smack down!

went to venice today with brad, got to cypress cove marina around 530 am arrived to a lil wind but said screw it , out to breton sound. we made our way to the islands around the first signs of daylight and started throwing topwater. first 4 casts produced 2 nice fish we thought it would be on . it slowed down we caught about 10 on top water and a few on corky devils . we fished hard for another 2 hrs only having 18 iin the box . decided to try to fish it by water clarity cuz nothing else seemed to be working . locate slicks around rip lines was the key in about an hour in and half we reached our limit on pearl and truce brown lure devil eyes. final tally 50 nice specks all in the 2-4 lb range . it was a very very soft bite today . the river is at 4ft in nola so it it continues to fall it looks like were gonna be catching trout damn near in the river this winter ( fingers crosses)!!!!! latley we havin been doing so great on size or numbers so brad called last night and said he figured it out we needed our "come back kings" jerseys to come out n get slimed up ...... guess it paid off. comin in was sloppy as hell, 2-3's made for a bumpy ride in

aww the jump! man that is a last resort for me i can stand messin with all them people and ship traffic , we got a few other spots a lil father down river we like to fish when the rivers low. the water was actually cleaner IN the river today than in baptise collet ! but it still had patches of dirty water . if the wind would lay down for a day or so the water at the islands would be so clear you could see the bottom but usally that brings in the sharks , today we only lost 2 fish to sharks but we could see em busting mullett everywhere

Nice haul Mike. Trout are starting to hit the interiors as the last couple of trips the schoolies are slautering shrimp in the ponds
