Never heard this story [history] about LA.

I do kind of remember something about the flag: "a single white star on a blue field". Maybe I have seen a flag like that somewhere in the past.

I think it's on the signs on the side of I-12 that say something about the Florida Expressway or something like that. I always wondered why it was called that and why we had 'Florida parishes'.
