Don't know about LA but over here in FL as long as your cooking there is nothing the authorities can do about a fire. So its a Hot Dog on a coat hanger wire.

Do like my Dad did years ago He let the ditch get grown up real bad & decide to burn it instead trying to cut it. The fire got away from him went up a telephone pole like it was dipped in gasoline! Someone called the FD & they arrived & put it out, he told them someone must have thrown out a cigerette, the fireman said in three different spots fireman just shook his head got in his truck & left.

Years ago I was burning some empty corn sacks up in the tx hill country after filling feeders. The wind lifted a lit one out of my barrel and it landed in the tall dry grass. About 5 minutes later I was looking at 20-40 foot flames, ended up burning several hundred acres or more, including a barn.

I remember driving my truck through fire to get off of the property to safety.

The agriculture burns are permitted provided the person has been to a school teaching them what they must do to burn.

There is no legal way around the ban that I am aware of.

As someone said earlier, if you are burning, ban or not, and the fire damages someone elses property you could be found liable for damages and also may be charged with arson.

Hire you a certified prescribed burner. We have burned almost everday since the ban was imposed.

good idea...what do you think one would charge for 5 acres? its completely disked up around... also there is chances of rain from sunday to wednesday so ban "should" be lifted next week..
