Dularge Trout Fishing

Fishing for trout everyday this past week has been about the same with hit or miss catches. Plenty of small fish in our area but only about 30% - 40% of what you catch are legal. Yesterday we fished with Clayton Breaux and his 9 man crew with trout on the menu. Capts Gerald Ellender & Travis Lovell helped out as we spread out far and wide in search of the hungry trout. We covered a lot of water finding trout at most locations but no concentrations of legal size fish. We brought in right over 100 nice trout along with some nice reds and a lone flounder. Everything was caught on plastic in various lures and colors. The new colors worked well with the Bayou Chubs as did the purple haze and limetreuse swim baits. Most of our fish were caught on reefs in less than 2 ft of water. Everyone fished hard and had a good time on the water as the weather has been providing us perfect conditions. Big thanks to Shawn Whitney for providing everyone with some great meals. Also a big 'thank you' to Capt Gerald for helping out on Thursday with Dave G and his wife. They brought in a nice box of trout for their efforts. Gotta run, getting ready for my afternoon trip. Good luck fishing.
