i don't know if these are long enough unless you are fishing the banks most the reefs are 4 to 6'. with wave height and the 2 foot you loose on the bow mount. it would be close.... i don't know maybe they are plenty long...this is the only reason i haven't bought one of these yet. kinda scared i would be wasting my money. if you buy one keep us informed
