Default Making own rod?

Checking to see if anyone makes their own rods? I've been looking into building one and found a few places to get materials. It will be my first time building a rod but I am pretty handy at making things. I dont think I will build a perfect rod right off the bat, but I think I will be able to build a useable one.

Post some pics or hints and tips for me if you have any knowledge of building custom fishing rods.

If you want a good built rod to start off....buy you a Waterloo and you will not want to use anything else

Thanks for the input guys. W, I checked out those rods and they are really nice. I've just always wanted to try and build my own. I know it won't be as good as ones I can buy, but I'm gonna see what I can throw together.

Check out Tackle Underground - they have a forum dedicated to rod building.

Mud Hole is probably your best bet for supplies. They even have kits to get you started.

Good luck and keep us updated as I have always wanted to try it myself.

Nice, I plan on making something similar to your carrot stick. I just need to figure out what guides I want and how much equipment I want to get started with.
