I use to buy from Mudhole when I started out.
Find they are really expensive on freight and slow in getting items out especially at 1st of the year where they take care of the larger accounts over little guy.
If you are in Houston Fishing Tackle Unlimited high as you know what, but they got it. I usually stop there if I need blanks and already in Houston it cheaper than having a blank shipped. Accessories I have 3 our 4 places I use on line especially if you want good cork.
I use Swampland Tackle due to he has good advice, he forefront of selling microguides before mudhole, and has castaway blanks.
Website is
www.swamplandtackle.com
When you call him he will give you advice.
Flyrod blanks I buy them from Schiender's rods
http://www.schneidersrods.com/ in Arkansas I find their custom blanks are really good for bream and light bass fishing. This is also what they do being located next to some nice trout streams. Love their spinning rod blank for trout it a nice blank to build a sacliat or bream rod.
Offshore rods which I build for a friend who is a guide I got a Cal-star dealer in California that hooks me up.
I have nice equipment, but to start out in rod building you don't need much to get going. The rods will not be as pretty as a production rod in the beginning. If you build it right on a decent blank you will find they are more sensitive.
Websites I like rodbuilding.org.
