A hydrofoil is a bandaid for a prop or motor height problem. What type of boat and motor?

I have a 15'42'' with a short shaft 05 25 merc. I run a SS 10.38 13p prop. I am planning on putting a jack-plate on it but haven't yet.

I got a mini jacker which I wouldn't recommend because its cast aluminum and not easily adjustable, but it helps!

Your motor might be too high...the cavitation plate should be about even with the bottom of the boat. Is your prop in perfect condition?

I have used them on almost all of my boats and they worked great, but when I upgraded my last outboard I replaced the foil with trim tabs. Left the holes in the cav plate for a couple of months, never noticed a difference.
