May I offer a suggestion??
If you are going with a loader.........four wheel drive and 30 horse should be a minimum. Why? if you have a loaded box the four wheel drive will help push and move it. and you need 30 horse, of you just as soon use a wheel barrel. My opinion only........... |

I agree with simplepeddler. Get a 4WD no matter what size. What kind of work will y'all be doing with them?

Horsepower on tractors is like inches in penus' one or two makes a big difference Kinda the same with "feets" on boats |

Mine is for home gardening and some yard work. Plan on having a 4 wheel drive. Don't want too big a tractor because of I need it to get in smaller places

If you go with a new tractor I would go with either a Kubota or a John Deere. Deal breaker would be price of course but equally important would be the dealers service department and their ability to get the tractor in and out quickly doing a quality job.

I would used to agree with that 100%......but the orange and green guys have gone a little too far in price for the average homeowner. Not to mention the green guys are using Yanmar engines anyway. I am really impressed with some of the "off" brands like Bobcat. I have Cub Cadet that has the Mitsubishi diesel and it has given me NO problems in 12 years and 600 or so hours. I keep up three acres and every neighbor within walking distance uses the thing, key stays in it. It's abused and used for sure. Also impressed with the bang for the buck on the Mihindra. Now if you intend on keeping the thing a couple years and then selling, orange and green is the way to go. I was always taught that tractors stayed around till they just died. |
