Default Rockefeller Report

Went out to Josheph's Harbor with the wife, BIL, SIL, and nephew. Hit the concrete dam at 7 and caught about 9 dozen crabs and a black drum. Went to mud hole and caught a limit of 40ct shrimp in 10 casts and finished off the limit. We were back in the boat at 9. Great trip with the family. The crabs were mixed. All full!

Good haul right there....only good thing about this strong south wind it helps the shrimp come inland.

I didnt fish at Mud Hole. I had really just baited my hook, threw out in the main canal and put my rod in the holder on my boat at the concrete dam. I would just watch it. There was a guy fishing at Mud hole, but I heard him say nothing but little ones. Don't know if that meant little reds or little trash fish??? Water was definately deep enough. Tide was coming in and that Badazz south wind had the water up pretty good. Unless the tide would be really low, I don't think you would have a problem. I don't ever remember kicking up mud goin back there.

not really, wanted to be there to blast off at official sunrise, but was late. When I got to the launch, there were only 7 boats. People were starting to show up as the morning progressed.

The Mud hole is the name given to one of the wiers. It is located south a couple of miles and then east another mile+ from the J. H. boat launch.

There are 5 [maybe more] wiers that you can get to by boat from Josheph Harbor.

Launch at Joseph's Harbor and Go south. You will go about 1/2 mile or so and come to a T. There is a wier on the western point and another weir directly across the canal from it to the South. If you take a right and go down a good ways, there is another weir on the left. If you take a left at the T, go to the first cut on your left. Turn left and the concrete dam is located a few hundred yards on the left. Keep going down this canal and there is a weir down the first cut to your right. If you keep going down the main canal, there will be little platform structure on your right (visible from the concrete dam), go past this and take your first cut to the left. The mud hole weir is located at the end of the cut to the left.

As for fishing, I have not done much fishing out there, so I can't give you too many pointers.
