I am no electrical engineer, and didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn last night, so I am not sure how it works. I am barely familiar w/ electrolysis (sp?) and how it works, using saltwater to travel through wiring, steel, etc. On this new boat I rigged last summer, I spent $60 on two master battery switches and installed them in the boat. One is a master battery switch killing the electrical current to my outboard. The other is a master switch killing power to my center console and all electronics, lights-stereo-radio-GPS-......everything!

I am not sure if this is the cause or not, but this boat looks like the day I rigged it. All of my electrical connections that usually rust/corrode look brand new. I can only assume what they say about corrosion and electricity is true since I have not done anything different with this boat as any other in the past other than the master battery switches. I will continue to use them, and watch for developments, just wanted to throw that out there while the topic was open. Didn't mean to jack the thread!
