well drost you might troll that slow but alot of people troll pretty fast for marlin, big tuna just google it theres hundreds of ways people do it here is a example of one.When I target Ono at high speeds (14-18 knots), I catch all sorts of pelagic's and big ones too. I've caught several Marlin under 300 lbs, a 300 lb Big Eye, 78 lb Mahi and lots of Ono. The funny thing is all fish were taken on cable leader...makes me wonder if fish are even leader shy at high speed.......


When we cross the stream from Miami to Bimini, I always put out two wire line outfits and troll them at 20 knots....On one crossing, we had both 12/0 wire outfits get stripped in less than a min or so.....maybe Bluefin? who knows......
