Default Apparently a boat struck by lightning...

Got this in an email. Just a warning to pay attention to those storms out there on the water. Lightning is no joke!

I think one guy was killed instantly and another one was seriously wounded. This happened 2 years ago i believe....

As much as I've longed for a custom aluminum (Gravois/Gaudet), I will stick with my fiberglass boat. Non-conductive. It just seems like aluminum would be a lightning 'magnet'. I've been in storms so bad, I had the stainless steel steering wheel tied with a bandana because I didn't want to be touching anything metal...In reality, if you take a direct hit, it probably wouldn't matter what your driving...

Yep, happened on Big Lake 2 years ago. 1 died another badly injured.
