Default Verm Bay / reef report 8-4

Wow what a difference 3-4 days make. We did well sunday and monday on reefs outside of the pass, water was not that bad, very fishable and we caught fish. Get out there early this am and water looked like choco milk. Caught one speck early and that was it. Had fun catchin a buncha sandy's in the pass under some birds. O well maybe water will clear up some by the weekend.

A little better in pass, fishable. Hung a few smaller specks under birds.

We fished Vermilion Bay on Wednesday. Started morning off at Tee Butte. Water was not what we were hoping for but tried anyway. First fish was a 3# trout on top water. Second fish was a 13 inch trout on suspended bait. Tide was moving west to east over the reef. No additional bites at Tee Butte. Moved to the pass but water was not pretty so tried Hell Hole. No bites and water ugly. Headed to the cove but water still dirty and wind was from the west to south west making the cove a little choppy. Headed into Shark Bayou. Prettiest water we found all day was here but only managed to catch one small rat red. Moved into Weeks Bay (south end) and the water here was as pretty as Shark Bayou. We ended up catching a few flounder here. After the flounder bite slowed we made one last move to a canal off the Industrial Canal. Only caught one small rat red in there so headed back to the landing and called it a day. Travelled 86.2 miles according to the GPS with little to show for it. Can't wait til next time.
