I have a citica 200D. Are y'all referring to the E? I started out with a $50 reel (H2O) and now y'all have put me in a $100 reel. I understand the Citica is a better reel, but for the little bit that I fish now, I just wonder if twice the price is necessary.

I have been trying for 3 months now to get parts for the Mettle,no luck, even Academy has no clue, no contact info to be found in box or online. You can easily get parts for any Shimano.

Your right. I stand corrected. I didn't realize the Caenan was that expensive. The kid I talked to said his Caenan cost $70.

But I did buy my little brother a mettle and it's not a bad little reel, it casts great with 20lb braid, but it is no comparison to a Shimano IMO Either way you go I think you will like either one good luck lol I hate decision making |

just get you a h20 and give it a try then..I make plenty of money to buy high dollar rods and reels but not having the time to enjoy them enough I stick with the cheeper ones and have had decent luck with them..but they do go out quick in saltwater..ive thrown away to h20's this year due to salt water and I clean and oil them..so its all up to you on how much you willing to spend???

I fell the same way but I can tell you first hand it pays to save sometimes and wait till you can get the better. I have bought $25-$200 reals and I thought I was doing good the first of the yr and bout a Abu Revo for $99 and in just a few months it went from great to junk so then I had to cough up money for a new real which I got the Curado when it went on sale and so far it is way better and only cost about $50 extra.
