Tide Conversion

There is about an hour difference. North end of lake in 1.5 to 2 hours and up by I-210 is about 3 hours.
But this varies a lot depending on winds [strength and direction] and how much tide change there is for that day. If the tide is falling........low tide up north will be later. When the tide is rising...... the water up north usually does not have very much movement. When the water in the gulf rises, think of it as forming a dam at the mouth of the ship channel. The water in the channel can not get out so Big Lake starts to fill up and water farther north finally starts to rise. When the tide in the gulf starts to fall, this allows the water in Big Lake to flow towards the gulf and this creats water flow on a falling tide. |
