ALTERNATE PROCEDURE TO TITLE TRAILERS

R.S. 47:451

DEFINITION
Provides for the issuance of a certificate of title to every owner of a trailer, light-trailer, boat trailer, farm trailer, travel trailer, and manufactured home which has not been previously titled or licensed in another state, and for which no record exists with the department.

REQUIREMENTS
Required documentation is as follows:

Hold Harmless affidavit.
A sworn affidavit from the applicant indicating the date of acquisition and purchase price of the trailer. This affidavit must contain a complete description of the trailer (year, make, model, body style, and vehicle identification number).
The application for title (DPSMV1799).
If the applicant cannot provide documentation proving ownership of the trailer, either a bill of sale or receipt, the individual applicant must obtain two sworn affidavits from individuals who have personal knowledge of the manner in which the individual applicant acquired ownership of the trailer in question. This affidavit must contain a complete description of the trailer(year, make, model, body style, and vehicle identification number).
An affidavit of physical inspection. The physical inspection must be performed by a full-time Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified law enforcement officer who has been certified by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Office of State Police, to inspect motor vehicles.
A NCIC check issued by a Louisiana P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement officer or motor vehicle officer.

i wanna say its a 74 model i believe but its in good shape it looks like it has a newer axle underneath it.little rust on the back section by the lights but the trailer has been painted black so might be some other spots idk about.

State police was on the news last night saying they were cracking down on trailers. Wish they would have said that last weekend.lol

Looks like im gonna have too. Apperantly you have never had your fishing or hunting trip ruined by getting pulled over for no tail lights.

ok thanks, my low boy needs new wires and lights and have fun with the boat because those lights seem to last about one trip then bulbs burn out

sure you could get $75 atleast, those make good trailers to haul in woods with atv. I see it has a plate on it, you can't find last registered owner?

ive got the title and the registration only problem is the two people whi bought it before me never registered it.the title is signed over thats whats messin me up i cant get ahold of that guy but the trailer is legit
