Default Basin Trip

Changed things up this weekend, left the Bay Boat at home and hit the Basin with the flat Sunday morning. On the water for 0630 headed to the fishing spot. Man that high water this year brought some sand with it....wheww what used to be mud banks are now sand bars. It was a real nice day, we caught a mixed bag of sacaliat, bull brean and Goggle-Eye, ended the day with 57.......... and messed the all the rain that was building around us.

I was in the Bayou Boutte area, Mystic Bayou, and surrounding places, but we caught 95% in the Boutte.

Nice catch. I love that area. Did you catch on live or artificial?

Thanks for the info. I haven't made a trip in the Basin all summer. Hoping to make one after I bring my daughter to college this week.

In all honesty it was my first trip as well, water finally got down to fishable level and been hearing bout all the catches so had to give a try. Heard they have been filling up the boat in Beau Bayou, Grevenburg, Phillips, etc etc etc....... Didn't feel like fighting all the boats there so we went where I thought there would be less pressure, and i was right, saw four boats all day.
