Default Buras Weekend

Had some boys form the slidell area come down to Buras for a two day trip. The first day we went out chasing big trout for the Oilmans Rodeo in Lafitte. So the frst day we didnt but a bunch of fish in the box. (33 to be exact) but we did manage to catch about 15 on topwater. The biggest was just 4.8 lbs. Not sure how that will stand in the rodeo. The next day I said lets just go fishing and if we are lucky the big fish will come. For the first hour we were in one of the prime spots to catch a big one. (Empire Jetties) Lost as good fish but wasnt really big, just a nice fish. Then moved over to a reef and got on a really good trout bite. Headed in at 11 to beat the rain. It just amazes me to see how some people could act on the water these days. I mean I had a guy in a champion see us catching fish on the shallow reef and drove through the middle of them and acted like he didnt know. Then he laughed as he pulled off. He was so close I COULD HAVE thrown a 1/4 oz jig across his boat. I mean really, who does that. He could have passed 400 yards either side of me. who knows he shut our bite down as we were catching some really nice trout, then we picked at a few more before we came in. All fish were caught on slug go's (Arkansas Shiner) on a jighead. The Empire South Pass Tarpon Rodeo is this weekend at Delta Marina and should be a really good time. If your down come drink a beer with me. I will be there wed through sunday. My number is 504 382 2370 if anyone needs anything if your there or know someone that would like to book a trip. The second pic is of my lil cousin who went out with my neighbor to some rigs down here and caught him a snapper or two. I put it up cause I thought it was a good pic. The snapper are thick down here right now and they are close. Sorry the pics are fuzzy I took them with my phone.
