![]() Pros; look kinda cool with all those rocket launchers. Allow storage of yo samiches and tunes. Cons; make a 22' boat 10' shorter,a 24' boat 10' shorter. Displace a tremendous amount of fishing area. Expensive |

Shade for Sweetie (my wife) and Katy (see smiling Lab to the left) and storage (samiches and life jackets) are all big enough pros to give up space.
Best solution would be a removable version for the winter, cloudy days and days you get your expenses paid (three other guys in the boat). I'm watching out for one of these for my next rig. |

I guess I sparked this thread. Over last 12 years I've had a 21', 22', & now a 24' champion. I'm apparently light complected, because by the time my lazy self puts up the bimini....Ive got more sun than I care for. And that's with putting sun screen on before leaving the house. I welcome the down side of a t-top because frankly.... I've never fished from a boat with one. In addition to constant shade, I think they look good. But, I'm not one to get something that looks good if it's not practical.

just seems like they would get in the way of casting to me if you had more than 2 or 3 people on the boat. The only boats Ive ever been on with t-tops were offshore boats so there wasnt much casting going on

agreed, on anything less than 22,21 foot, you're gonna run into some problems, anything bigger, you would be a baffoon not to get one. plus fishing in lakes and bays and inshore areas you'll be limited in where you can fish(draw bridges/fixed bridges and such) that's where the bimini comes into play.

Got a buddy that has a 25ltz shearwater and ill tell you it has a but load of knicks on it from me...they are nice for two people or the WIFE..other than that they need a Quick lock to take that thing off..If I had one it would get used about 3 times a year...bring an umbrella....cheaper...and bring the family through the weirs to go crabbing...my .02 cents.
