I considered myself a good guide when they tipped me even when our limits were not filled. Time in the field is not always about the kill but the fellowship between like minded individuals. Back when a $100 tip was big time, I had several days when we did not shoot a limit but the Sports appreciated my effort and stories and thus rewarded me appropriately.

I have gotten better money on a poor hunt, bird wise, than when I went and killed limits and were out the blind in only an hour. I took some fellows for an afternoon hunt, left the camp with only 1 1/2 hours to hunt, had to stop for gas because they were on empty. Finally get to the field with only about 20 minutes of shooting time left, killed 4 ducks and got a $200 tip. Then they asked if I was satisfied!!!!!!

Took 2 sports to blacks and ended with 17 birds.....$5 tip.
They were with an electric company, ENTERGY!!!
Wish they would have stiffed me instead of pucking me.
