Default Question for a friend.
I have a buddy that has been catching some big ling lately. He can't fit some of them in his fis box on his bay boat. He wants to know if it is legal to filet the fish leaving both filets still on the skin so that he can break the backbone of the carcus and put it in his fish box to prove the fish's size in case he gets checked.

I'm goin too as soon as I can't shoot at those lol teal ducks anymore. But the wind will probably start blowin again by then.
