Bayou Runners were old Carolina Skiff copies made by Avenger boats in Chalmette.
They are no longer in business. |

Thanks. We looked at one about a week ago (wasn't for sale) and it seems a little better built than the Carolina. Warren |

He is looking for something wider for carrying a load with less power. Plus he wants to put a 4" drain for when hunting alligators he can pull the plug and rinse the boat out so it needs to be a self bailing hull. Warren |

Bayou Runner has a flat bottom with a strake along the middle to keep from sliding when you turn hard.
They float high, very little draft, and have low freeboard. Good boat, just not good for open water. I don't know if they fixed it or not, but the front deck and center console was riveted to the deck with aluminum rivets at one time. That was another bad thing about them. And carpet was the third. Other than that, it was a good, thick hulled boat. And you could pull the plug while sitting still in the water and not sink. It had a small box below the floor line that the bilge pump sat in. This box didn't fill all the way up when the plug was pulled. |
