When at Sherburne Rifle range..... I usually spend some time picking up trash while letting my barrel cool off.

I saw some safety violations that would get you one final warning from my range in Virginia. Fiddling near bench while someone is down range, handling a weapon behind the firing line, two shooters - one on bench and one using post as prop (ahead of bench).

Louisiana does not require "Rifle range" safety training before using any range and most of the people using this range probably have never had any real experience or training on what is considered proper conduct.

This range is not supervised and there are no "rules" to be followed.

I usually use the range one or twice a year. Any yes I see people do things that should not be done. I had 6 years experience as a teenager shooting weekly in a club under the NRA guidelines.

Here are pictures of my awards from shooting in the Junior NRA program. For the experienced NRA program members..... yes the highest award ..."Distinguished"....is not there. When I turned 18 yrs old, I was ~ 2/3 the way completing the requirements. Time and school distractions kept me from completing all the requirements.
