Agreed, for every person loaded into a surface drive I believe you loose 5 mph. They suck for long runs in various depths of water, slo bote to China.

At one point in time I really wanted one, but I don't see the point now. A good tunnel hull with a 40 mercury will go a lot of places and get there faster and you can probably get the complete rig for cheaper than a mud motor by itself.
