i ran a broke off 1/4" drill bit into my hand at about the same place and depth. it was around 3 yrs. before i had full use of the fingers on that hand. that was in 1989, i'm 62 now and it's starting to bother me again, specally' in cold weather. all they did for me was give me a tetnus shot.

"no mans land" everything likes to scar down and contract in that area of the hand. The less they do there the better the outcome.

Doc looked, asked about a tetnus shot and said, "Here's some antibiotics. Have a good day and, Merry Christmas!" Probably billed the ins. co. $300!

That sucks. Was that you behind me today on Burnside?

My dad ran a 3/8 bit through his hand there when I was little and I got a hardhead catfish barb almost in the same spot a few years back. Hurt like hell

Purebay and I had this same conversation yesterday. I've never gone to a doctor unless it was falling off or clearly broken. Felt like a wuss going for this but, oh well.
