I have an uncle that has one of the old 15x50 and its a nice boat with a dry ride. Do you happen to know what your hull weighs on some of the 44" bottom boats, would be interested in how like that 16x44 compares weight wise to a aluminium hull of equal size

These old boats bring back some fond memories for me, it's funny how time marches on. My father bought one of the 17x42 models in the early 90's from Clay, who my grandfather also knew well before that time. I remember several of dads friends and another uncle of mine in the area bought them also.
Our hull saw 3 different 25's and eventually a "built" 40 yamaha. I gave it to someone to use as a pond boat. My uncle bought a 15x50 model not too long after, its had a couple engines but spent most of it's time with a mega 25. I know of at least 3 of the old ones that are still around. During those years I really can't count how many hours I spent in those two boats. We fished toledo, calcasieu, BL, burns, lac a fish, and hunted sabine nwr a lot. Hell, if I had a good 3 cyl tiller I'd buy one from you all now. |

you should really consider looking at making a camo model for duck hunting or hunting in general with Pirogue racks.

the new ones look like a bay boat inside which would be easy to keep up but definitely would not want the white due to mud stains or if you want to hunt from it......tan inside would be nice with maybe OD green hull

Hey Paul. Looks like a nice boat. What is the weight of a 16 x 44? Have you ran this boat loaded down with a 25 / 40 hp? Can you post some pics ?? Thanks, Bobby..

well turns out my neighbor has 15-16x50 marshrunner "clay craft?". we took it out last night and this morning. really nice boat. has a 90's 30hp johnson and with 4 people it planed out and cruised pretty good.makes me wish i had a bigger budget.it had a pretty smooth ride. wind picked up and you could tell it was a flat bottom but still handled good and didnt slide at all in the turns. damn good boat in my opinion

yea the 44" hull would be a better ride plus i like the look of it over the 50" hull but after being in his thats 50" bottom it was stable with 4 of us standing and 3 of us being on the front deck. and it was a very dry ride even this morning when the wind picked up i was sittin on the edge of it and never got a splash.

I have a marshrunner boat,it is about 17 to 18 foot and about 48 across bottom,I traded a 15 foot allweld for it.its been sitting under my carport,I did not realize how heavey it was until after I traded, my 25 merc with 2 people and gear was only running maybe 15 or 20 mph,I was being passed by tugboats,HA! ,the floor feels soft, it is a good riding boat ,im thinking about cutting it down to 12 or 13 foot and making it lighter .my question is,it looks like they have some kind of aluminum pipe in the bottom? could someone clear this up for me. I may also consider trading for 12 foot all welded boat.just boat for boat I keep my trailer and motor thanks

i have a 1550 marshrunner with a 25-3cyl yammie since '96. this is the best riding and stable small boat i have ever been in. haven't been in the water since rita and really been missing fishing lately. i am currently in the process of rebuilding my boat transom and removed the old carpet to have it sprayed with bedliner possibly or something else, don't want carpet back in it. with two people and gear it used to run in low 30's, don't know if it will anymore. love this boat!!!!

my marshrunner is 18 feet long and bottom is 42 wide, I thought it was 48. any body with info on how this boat is built as far as under floor, im going to replace foam and i want to know what im getting into, I might even cut lenght of boat down to 13 foot,18 is to long, plus i need to cut weight so my 25 will push it better, just replacing foam may help weight, because it may be soaked with water. any info on this boat will help , thanks
