I'm bringing this thread back to life because i want to know can i yank this restrictor plate out my intake and get more ponies out of my 50 motor? I have tried shining in with a light but like how far into the throttle body does this plate/cone go? is this plate in there loosely once you remove the screen?

Can anyone post a picture what this cone looks like once it is removed??

The 50 doesn't have a restrictor. The 40 and 50 share the same block so the 50 is restricted to make a 40.

You're saying the carbed 40 tohatsu can be hopped up to make more power than a carbed 40 mercury?
