I hunted in a pit near Hayes today. Not much flying at all. We killed 5. The amount of water everywhere is unbelievable!

Stupid me left my tunnel boat in da water on the bank. Hunting partner went yesterday; engine was inches from being under water with everything floating inside! Seems we picked up around 5 inches in GC. Feast or famine down there lately. What ducks are down there are scattered everywhere. Might have to hunt out of the blinds in smaller ponds the last 2 weekends. Might go scouting Friday morning if i can get out.
DGG, this thread ain't over till the season ends! Best one ever! Thanks!

if I go out Friday I'll give ya a heads up on whats out there.......
Just a passing thought; last time we had all this water during the season the ducks moved into flooded pastures north of the road. Might have to take a ride on our northern section to see if they moved in those fields....

sounds good. The pasture behind us was covered with birds during the first and begining of second split, but have moved on. I bet them pastures on the north side of the hwy are full of ducks.

Just bought me some waders! Ready to make a hunt with raymond. We finally got water in our field. Apparently a guy killed a limit of ducks at our blind today.

Went hunt/scout Friday morn..... Very few ducks in the GC south marsh. Killed 2 spoonie and 2 Greys; that's all that came in. Rode the whole lease, first time this year we could! Ducks were scattered all over...none near our blinds..will hunt the grass for the rest of season.
