If you are pulling a boat and step on it, it runs just as good as any small block V-8.

never said it didnt, I said when you get to top end cruising speed you still have a v6. turbos are beasts of demand, crusing at highway speed is not an area of demand.

can you kick it down a few gears and make the turbo a factor again, YES.

generic spec sheet lol. just giving facts and not some ford techs mouth of word. not knocking on the 5.0 just pointing out the eco boost is better.

You don't need them when crusing at highway speed.
You need them when you want power.
Same with a V-8. You get better milage when you don't put your foot in it.
Why do you need more power if you are just cruising down the highway. That's when you want the milage.

You don't need torque at highway speeds, unless you are pulling or hauling.
The Ecoboost has the milage and torque. What more can you ask for?

Unless you have a bag phone. Then it's 2000 rpm, to carry the extra weight. Hafta turn off the overdrive.

so an engine that makes 360 torques at 5500 rpms pulls better than an engine that makes 420 at 2500 rpms? when you are only at 2000 rpms while doing 70mph. i must be taking crazy pills not only does the ecoboost make MORE overall torques but its making them at the rpm you will be pulling a load at highway speeds. and the statement about the turbo cutting off at higher speeds is ridiculous. if you know anything about a turbo "which the ecoboost has two if you didnt know" works off the exhaust. so anytime the engine is running the turbo is turning. which means its ON. you may need to look at your spec sheet again because i fear its wrong.

for starters numb nuts I never said the 5.0 pulls better. I've never pulled with the ecoboost. I said I chose the 5.0 and made statements about the ecoboost. I am fully aware of how a turbo works but I'm not real sure you are. But keep reading fords website, you'll be an expert before you know it. and you still havent answered your own simple question, guess cause it wasnt on the spec sheet. here's an idea, go out in your yard and dig around in the tall grass, there's a clue in there somewhere and you will find it sooner or later.

Turbo's don't put out much compressed air, unless the engine is under load or ramping up.
But you don't need much torque, unless you are under a load or ramping up.
I have a turbo diesel truck and a twin turbo gas truck.
You don't hear the turbo's whining unless you are under a load, or coming up to speed, or passing.

It's good to get good milage, and have decent torque too is a plus.

If it's on the internet, then it has to be true.
