Read review after review and drove both several times. Ecoboost was a little louder due to the turbo ramping up. Final decision came after I spoke with mechanic at Planet Ford. Said 5.0 is a solid engine and proven- Easy to work on, lots of room and cheaper down the long haul for maintenance. Told me the turbo was expensive to work on. $2500 for one and told me $4000 to change out both of them. Told him I wanted a truck I could keep a long time- he told me to pick the 5.0- I bought it and never looked back. Love it.

but Corey, why would you listen to a man that works on these for a living??? the standard spec sheet on fords website says the ecoboost is the better engine!!!!

ok, I quit.
