Default Frontier 210 in fresh water ?

I am thinking of buying a Frontier 2104 (21' center console) and also want to use it at Toledo Bend and other fresh water La lakes.

Any experience with this size boat under fresh water conditions ? Launching a problem, water depths, stumps etc. ?

What about in the Basin ?

No different than running a 21 foot bass boat, frontier actually drafts less water than a bass boat. Only problem is fishing under low lying trees but you get used to it. Jcheif has the same boat and I think he fishes toledo bend....maybe he will chime in. Of course toledo is tough to launch a jon boat right now the water is so low. Oh yeah welcome to SC!

Thanks. Saw the billboard near Lake Charles.

Hope to fish Big Lake and Cocodrie by winter.

Boat show in January will have a good price on the boat, with Y150, rigged, from Lake Area Marine.

Anyone deal with them recently ?

I run a 210 Frontier. Have a camp at Toledo and fish Big Lake regularly.

I love the boat. No problems at Toledo, except for now because the water is so low.

Ask if you have any questions. Chas Drost on here has one also. Think he is selling it.

How is the Frontier when Big Lake gets choppy ? Rough ride or not ?

Dealer recommended marine "bean bags" for passengers sitting. Know anything about those ?

It is probably one of the driest riding boats out there. It handles the chop very well. I don't have trim tabs, but had them on my Blackjack and they make a big dirrerence in a chop.

No idea about the bean bags. Takes up room in my opinion.

Bean bags in a bay boat takes up too much space, mostly used for offshore rigs. If I remember right the 210 has two jump seats in the rear deck. Two people behind the console and two on the rear deck. I wouldn't want to fish anymore than 4 out of that size boat anyway.

correct and the jump seats are a comfy ride even in a slop, I can personally vouch for that, now if they only had a recline option it would be better for a nap on the ride in

Maybe a sofa in the back instead of those seats ...

FlagUS frontier #1 boat

i have a frontier 210 and we use it in salt water and fresh water. its great with both. i have the tunnel hull and it can go in about a foot of water when its in a plane, and of course the trim tabs and jack plate help alot. so i wouldn't worry about any trees or what other peoples concerns were with this boat. ITS THE DRIEST BOAT I HAVE EVER HAD!! it handles the waves so well. it chops right through them even in a rough bay. its definitively the boat to go with. if anyone has any questions ask me!!

I have not purchased a boat from Lake Area Marine, but have had some service work done there. I found them to be honest and easy to work with.

I took my kenner out of old pendleton harbor couple weeks back..the bass boats I seen were bumping stumps and having a little more trouble launching than I was. I have trolled through less than a foot of water with mine, and it was real windy one day going around the island out of cypress bend. We didnt get wet at all like the other guys were, IMO you will love it for an all around boat!!
