Default Mess of JB Rig Trout

Tried a few spots around the lake earlly in hopes of finding a decent top-water bite but nothing. Then decided to get mullet and head south. We several spots around the channel and jetty's and still just slim pickings. So I decided to make the RUN to the JB rigs and it payed off. We caught a mess of trout with many close to 4lb.'s and the majority being 2-3lb.'s All on mullet right up against the rig leg. we broke off some big trout by them running us is the rig leg. They were following each other to the top and even following the live mullet up to top. I had to be at work by 4:00 so we left the trout bite and looked for grass and the first patch we found had a MONSTER triple tail 15#'s sitting under it. I rigged Bonsack up with a popping cork and live shrimp and she came up and ate it.. Then broke off almost as quick -- got on some other small one's. But has to get back to work--could have stayed ALL DAY chasing those triple tail

Awesome man. Were the trout right on the bottom or were they suspended some? I'd like to go try that some day.

the trout were on the surface mainly, following others to the top but some were near the bottom. If you got right on the bottom the catfish would pick it up.

I saw you ,Chris that tide had just started to fall hard at the jetty's when we passed you,
