Hate to sound like a treehugger, BUT unfortunately the mosquito spray kills em. I haven't seen any around a city in a long time. Not against spraying but we may be creating a super strain of skeeters that will be resistant to pesticide. Also, mosquitoes and many of the bugs that are killed are pollinators, doesn't seem that big a deal but when insect pollinated plants have no insects to pollinate then..

We usually see a few fire flys here in the yard each summer..... not many. Sometimes we will see several just as it is getting dark.
The lack of Spanish moss I beleive is mostly due to polution in the air. Get out in the country away from any plants and you will see some Spanish moss. |
