Trout Bite Continues 3-14-12

Another good day on the water chasing the yellow mouths. On board today I had Sandy Derise with Superior Energy Services, Jerry victoriano, Jerard Victoriano, and Bob Cotten. We had a little late start but found the trout hungry at our first stop. It didn't take long for everyone to start slinging fish over the gunnels. We were quickly on the move when the bite slowed down. It was run and gun today as the bite didn't play out like yesterday. 2-10 fish was common today at each stop, Not like yesterday's two stops. Our last stop found some 16-19 inch trout which was nice to finish it off. Great group of guys to fish with as everyone had a good time, with lots of laughs and jokes being told. Avocado Matrix Shad was the hottest bait once again today with the shrimp creole Matrix and Coco Pepper Cocodrie Cocahoes following. No other baits needed right now. We had the baits double rigged and under a cork today. Thanks guys and Im Iooking forward to our next trip.

nice catch, I'll be in chauvin next weekend, I'll probably go down in cocodrie to fish, is there a certain area that I should fish? I've never fished down there and don't know how far out I should go to catch trout, I usually don't even saltwater fish past January until june or july.

Warren Higgins and Glenn Hickerson with Kone Cranes from Texas fished with me today. What a incredible day is all I can say, can it get any better? Dularge is on fire folks. Good as it gets today, as the fish were eating up like there was no tomorrow. 16-21 inch trout at each stop except for one that we got into some school trout. Non-stop everycast action at one of our stops today had the guys amazed!! Avocado Matrix Shad continues to put a dent in the trout population Down In Dularge, as it's the #1 bait right now. I broke out some swimbaits today and busted quite a few trout also. Once the guys had their fill of trout we went hit the reds. It did not take long, as the Reds were hungry too!! Crystal clear water back in the redfish hole had the bronze backs nice a gold. After hooking into 15-20 reds the guys threw in the towel as they were slap worn out from reeling in all the fish. Texas Tackle Factory Killer Flats Minnows in Purple/chart did the damage on all the reds. I know my guys will be resting well tonight. Looking forward to day 2 with them tomorrow.
