Default Fausse Pointe 3/23

Took the niece and nephew to Fausse Pointe fishing today. Ended up mostly boat riding and enjoying the good weather and a lot of big gators. Water is real high. The Teche Lake Canal locks are open and the water is running into the lake instead of going out. I'm sure they are relieving water from the floods in the Breaux Bridge/Arnaudville area. No fish were caught but still found some nice water around even with the high water levels.

I am assuming you will be at the State Park. Early mornings and late afternoons around the lilly pads should be really good at that time. The rest of the day would probably be best in shady spots; since there is not a lot of deep water in the area to keep the water cooled down, and definitely look for water running out of some of the borrow pit drains and wooded swampland drains. Hope you have a nice trip, it is a beautiful place.
