E85 is a fuel that has 15 % ethanol added to the mixture.

Ethanol production cost is suppliment by the Goverment. I don't remember the exact numbers....but ethanol is expensive to make. Ethanol cost something like $ 10+ per gallon to make or 3 time more than what gasoline cost to make from oil.

I don't think it's necessarily fair to lay the blame for the bailouts and bankruptcy at the feet of the union. Not saying they helped any, but Ford has the same union and similar contracts as GM and Chrysler.

Google it, E85 is 85% ethanol with 15% gasoline

This stuff is a whole different animal from unleaded blended with 10-15% ethanol...
