I suggest the Purina brand since it can be found easily. Cheap dog food isn't that cheap when you factor in how much you have to feed. Try some good stuff and see how fewer turds you see and have to pickup. You'll also feed less and get better results; coat, energy, turds. Turds should be firm and consistant.

the huge ears that they have make them prone to yeast infections in their ears. it's a black tar like substance that makes their heads smell terrible. if that starts to happen with it's ears (can get in their toes too), go to a dog food that only uses wild animal proteins like salmon, duck, or lamb. it's costly, but the only thing that cured our dogs problem.

I feed purina pro plan to my lab and it's been great. Stay away from diamond, 3 recalls in the last month alone.

Blue Buffalo is THE best high quality dog food on the market that will not kill your bank account. It's ALL I use. Not all proteins are equal in quality AT ALL, also "dogs/canines don't have the necessary enzymes in their digestive systems to digest corn. The number one (filler)ingredient in most all dog foods.
