Default Best West Side Launch???

I am coming from TX and want to fish the south end of the lake. What is the best place to launch in order to fish West Cove and the south end?

I ususally launch at Calc. Point but I am really wanting to fish more and travel less.

Chris I looked at Heberts like we talked about but it is way on the East side. That is a long drive for me. Ellender is really no better than Calc point from a boat ride standpoint. Where is West Cove launch? Besides obviously being on West Cove somewhere.

Spicers is kind of in the middle of the lake. You can go thru Texaco cut or run the channel south.

If you launch at Dugas, you gotta deal with Jack. He has issues to say the least.

There are four launches in Hackberry. Dugas, end of Devall Rd., Spicer's and the old rock pile. For your fishing situation I would find the old rock pile or Dugas. Both are located in Job's Cove. Old rock pile the last right you can take off of Channelview Rd.

If you go further south to Hog Island Gully there is a launch near the old Sabine Headquarters. I don't think big boats can be launched easily, but haven't been there in a long time. I launched an 18' aluminum flat bottom a few years back.
