A/C Help (SoS)

well my A/C just crapped out and the guy is telling me that it is 2,600 just for the outside unit and not the A-coil. That is an additional 800 bucks. All these prices is installed and ready to go Guardian unit. Please if there is a better deal out there please tell me or am i getting a good deal or am i getting screwed. I want to do a complete new system so six months down the road it dont crap out on me again.. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again. Your friend who is sweating right now. lol

What size unit??? 3, 4, 5 Ton?

I paid ~ $2500 for a 4 ton compressor unit, about 5 years ago.

Not sure your size unit, but if it is 15 yrs old, I would go ahead and replace entire unit. I replaced mine last year, used Will Deville, 8029393. Did a really good job, and gave me a great price for 5 ton unit.

I have used Touth A/C [527-8683] out of Sullphur.......very good service.

My compressor was still under warranty and they went back to the MFG to get comprssor covered. ....wife called them a couple of times....they said they were work on the warranty.

Finally got the bill 2-3 months later. I only paid for labor.

The prices you have are about average retail . 3ton 13 seer unit , gas furnace and A coil is about $2600 cost. Shop around someone who is slow right now may cut you a better deal.
