The CI has GPS map charting & fishing imaging, the C has just fish imaging & no GPS map charting. This is on the 500 series, which one you looking at?

Either the 587ci hd di or the 597ci hd di. Are you using the built in map or did you buy the map card

I'm looking at the 700 series, with 7" screen, GPS, chart mapping, SI, & DI.

I'd like the 7" screen but it's going in my small boat. I'd have a bigger depth finder than I do boat

I thought the 700 series had a 5" screen because my 898 has a 7" and 998 has an 8" screen.

From what I can see, the diff in 500 & 700, 500 doesn't have switchfire sonar and is not upgradeable. The 700 series has the switchfire sonar, dualbeam plus, and is upgradeable & expandable. If you go to Hummingbird website, you can check each out. They do appear to have a very good price on 788CI HD @ 619.00 brand new.
