Default Horrible weekend for Team Duce Rods.

Weather weather weather!! Is what did us in. We were consistently putting 15.5-17 pound stringers in the boat for the 10 days we pre fished. We had great confidence in our selves and thought we would be at the top if it all worked out. Well as y'all can see it didn't.

Thursday: we were the 8thboat to take off, so our game plan was to run straight to the jetties. That changed when we saw a big school when we got to 9-mile. First cast I hook up as soon as it hits the water. John throws right after and hooks up but breaks off right away. I land mine but he was over. We got back on the school and all we could get was overs. Nothing even close. So we started looking for te other schools, but never got in them. The wind was kicking out of te east and the water was chocolate milk. Next move we headed to the jetties. Got there and tried to anchor but the 8+ knot current would bend the hell out of my anchor. We tried twice but almost got on the rocks both times. We then went outside and caught a few small ones. Came back to the inside and just used the trolling motor with no luck. Went back to the lake to find the schools. No luck! So we headed back north to fish around 210. Apparently my boat doesn't hold the 55 gal it says it does. According to my fuel management gauges I had only burnt 50 gal when we ran out. So we had to get towed back with our small fish.

Will post Fridays story soon. Have to run

I was wondering if quite a few of the teams had issues catching oversize fish...

Sounds like one rough tourney for alot of folks.

Went light for speed. We're supposed to just fish the jetties but couldn't anchor!

I have a 60 gallon tank in my boat.
But I ran out and when we filled it up, it only took 51 gallons.
You always have some left in the tank that the dip tube don't pick up.
